New documentary on Cosplay in production!

So some of you may already know that I'm currently in production of my next documentary film, all based around the world of Cosplay and the people that do it.

I will be meeting three lovely cosplayers and interviewing them within their own environments to find out what makes them cosplay, what it's all about and why should people give it a try?

My first little bit of news is that I have been working on a promo video shoot for Cats Protection, in Haslemere. I had a fantastic day filming lots of beautiful kitties, and I wanted them all!

Light Painting

So as you may know, I've recently been getting really into my long exposure photography.

First it was stars, now i'm trying my hand at some light painting. If you are new to this style, it basically consists of placing a light source in front of your camera at night and setting a long exposure to capture its light trail.

Here's my first attempt, the exposure time was set to 7 seconds, with an ISO of 800, on a Tokina 11-16mm lens 2.8 lens.

My next step is incorporating this technique into the moving image, watch this space!

Perseid Timelapse!

Hello everyone!

So if you liked my 'cosmic' photos you may be interested in a time-lapse video I put together during the week of the Perseid showers. Lots of beauts! (+ planes)

Galactic photos!

So I've recently been trying my hand at a spot of night time photography. There's so much to learn, and so much still to improve for future experiments, but it's really very rewarding!

The following photos were taken using a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens, with a 25 second shutter speed, ISO at 800 and aperture around f/3.5

The 'star trail' below was created by shooting a series of photos with a one minute interval on an intervalometer and compositing these later in Photoshop using a 'lighten' blending mode.

The day Poppy felt photogenic!

One evening a few weeks ago I was playing with my Canon 50 mm 1.4 lens, which is fantastic for portrait photos!

So Poppy decided to step in to help me try it out :)

Macro Photography!

I've been playing with my Canon 100mm EF lens this evening, and got some lovely dreamy shots around the garden.
